• Find 1 Vocabulary Word for your folder

Wednesday, April 15: 

• Read Chapter 5
• Write 1 (or 2) Quality Questions
• Find 1 Vocabulary Word for your folder
• Begin your Blog Post

Thursday, April 16:

• Read Chapter 6
• Write 1 (or 2) Quality Questions
• Find 1 Vocabulary Word for your folder
• Work on your Blog Post

Friday, April 17:

• Finish Folder Work
• Finish Blog Post

On Friday you should have the following work completed: 

• 3 Vocabulary Words
• 4 Quality Questions
• 1 Blog Post/Comment on others

Week 1 Discussion Question

In Chapter 2 Esperanza learns of her father's death. Her grandmother says to her "There is no rose without thorns," which Esperanza takes to mean "That there is no life without difficulties." This will be one of the most difficult things Esperanza faces in her life. Why will this be so hard for her? Why do you think the author starts the story this way?  

Make sure to write in complete sentences using a RAD response. Your answer needs to include details from the text. Type this in your blogging doc first so you don't lose your work and you can go back and edit. Check your spelling, capitalization, grammar, and sentences before you post. Show me your best thinking, stretch yourself to find the answer.

• Create a Quality Question
• Add another Vocabulary word to your folder

Wednesday, April 8th

• Read Chapter 3 in class (Las Papayas)
• Create a Quality Question
• Add another Vocabulary word to your folder
• Begin working on Blog Post

Thursday, April 9th

• Make sure you have 3 Vocabulary words
• Make sure you have 4 Quality Questions
• Work on Blog Post/Comment on others

Friday, April 10th

• Finish Blog Post
• Comment on others
• (Discussion will be on Monday)
